Santa Monica, Calif. — The Grammy Museum announced today the selection of seven U.S. schools as Grammy Signature Schools Enterprise Award recipients for 2017.
Ford Motor Company Fund supports a trio of schools: East Anchorage High School in Anchorage, Alaska; Chicago Military Academy at Bronzeville; and Overton High School in Memphis, Tenn.
"Music education plays a critical role in the success of students throughout the U.S.," Pamela Alexander, director, community development, Ford Motor Company Fund, said. "Ford is honored to reward high-performing music programs in partnership with the Grammy Museum."
These economically underserved schools have been selected and awarded cash grants totaling up to $106,500 for their commitment to quality music programs.
The additional four schools: Culver City High School in Culver City, Calif.; Huntington Park High School in Huntington Park, Calif.; Manual Arts High School in Los Angeles; and Robert Fulton College Preparatory School in Van Nuys, Calif., are supported by the Chuck Lorre Family Foundation.
