Teach For America (TFA) is growing the movement of leaders who work to ensure that kids growing up in poverty get an excellent education.
The organization recruits a diverse group of leaders with a record of achievement who work to expand educational opportunity, starting by teaching for two years in a low-income community.
TFA provides intensive training, support and career development that helps these leaders increase their impact and deepen their understanding of what it takes to close the achievement gap. The TFA Alumni group, now more than 28,000 strong, works at every level of education, policy and other professions, to ensure that all children can receive an excellent education.

In order to apply, applicants submit an online application by deadlines outlined on the web site's application process link. Next, selected applicants participate in a 30-minute phone interview with a Teach For America representative. Then, the most promising applicants are invited to a final daylong interview. Applications are non-binding.
Interested applicants must have certain prerequisites such as a bachelor’s degree, a minimum 2.50 grade point average and be a U. S. Citizen or have permanent resident status. Applicants are required to fill out an online application and go through a criminal background check as well.
